Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic start-up team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, developing, and implementing financial policies and procedures, and managing the budgeting and forecasting process. You will also be responsible for coordinating with various project stakeholders (customers, engineers, team members, utilities) through project documentation, update calls, and presentations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions and records related to project accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead corporate and project-specific accounting functions.

  • Prepare and analyze complex financial statements for senior management.

  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures.

  • Oversee budget forecasting, variance analysis, and trend identification.

  • Ensure integrity and accuracy in all financial transactions and project accounting records.

  • Provide financial leadership to other departments and handle cross-functional tasks.

  • Manage relationships with third-party partners (e.g. auditing firms, financial institutions).

Qualifications:

  • Finance degree required, Bachelor's in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in a financial leadership role with some startup exposure.

  • CPA or CA certifications are mandatory.

  • Expertise in project accounting principles like GAAP and IFRS.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and ERP accounting software.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexible and open to varied tasks in a startup environment.

  • Skilled in analyzing complex financial data for insight extraction.

  • Experience with budget management and project accounting forecasting.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, Teams).
